Would you allow someone else to manage your list?
TweetThat’s my big question at the moment, as I fell for the hype and signed up for CB Pirate.
The CB Pirate system is very nice, it does a lot for you, it provides the products you need to promote, the promo tools including squeeze pages and such, and it even manages your list for you, completely. But, is that a good thing?
I don’t have the answer yet, but I’m giving it my best shot for this month.
I’m not sure about all the pre-built squeeze pages, it almost seems like they are too slick. I feel that people are more likely to trust a home-grown squeeze page built by a real person. After giving several of them 1000 impressions each and getting no response, I’ve switched to the simpler “bonus page” type of ads.
I haven’t given the safelist emails a good run yet, and I haven’t promoted the products to my list yet (I want to be sure it will work for my people before I email them), so there is some territory to cover there.
The CB Pirate blog is pretty cool. There is a choice of formats, and they even provide pre-written blog posts if you want them. I rarely feel comfortable with pre-written stuff, if my name is at the bottom of the page then it’s got to be my wording above it, but the posts are pretty good if you like that sort of thing. I like that so many Clickbank products are promoted on my blog automatically in rotation, there is something for everybody here!
So, watch this space in a few weeks time and I’ll tell you how my first month with CB Pirate went!
